Make a 3D character online, free

You don't need to install Blender or learn a 3D program to make a character. Open a web page, start from a little clay guy, and squish him until he's yours.

A white Phetta Fella in a green frog hood, generated and rendered by the browser studio

Clayground's browser studio lets anyone make a 3D character online for free: it runs on phones and computers without an account, starts you from a random clay character or a plain ball, and every part (body, eyes, hat, arms) sits on its own layer you can reshape, recolour or delete. Nothing is generated by AI; you sculpt it.

Five minutes to your own character

  • Open the browser studio and tap Surprise me. A random Phetta Fella appears: big head, small body, its own hat or hood.
  • Make it yours: add eyes, ears, horns or a tail in Easy mode, or open Pro tools and push the clay around with Clay, Smooth and Move.
  • Build new parts with Shapes: tap a ball, block or ring, put it where you want it and stamp it in. Cut makes holes, like a mouth.
  • Paint it: pick a colour and brush it straight onto the clay.
  • Take it with you: a picture, a looping clip, a GLB for Blender or a game, or an STL to 3D print.

Tips for a cute character

Big head, small body. Put the eyes a little below the middle of the head and wide apart, keep the mouth small and close under them, and add a soft blush on the cheeks. One strong feature (a hat, ears, a tail) does more than lots of small ones. More character tips.

Where it can go

Every part stays a separate mesh in the GLB, so you can rig or pose it in Blender. The Blender guide covers the import. If you'd rather hold it, print your fella.

Questions people ask

Is it really free?

Yes, with no account. Signing in is only for optional extras like keeping sculpts online.

Does it use AI to make the character?

No. The random characters come from a hand-written generator, and everything after that is you sculpting.

Can I use my character in a game?

Yes. Export GLB with colour, or OBJ, and import it into your engine.
