Saved on this device: Automatic, a moment after each change. Your current sculpt, in this browser only. Clearing site data loses it.
Named copy: My projects → Save named copy. A copy that never overwrites another. Also in this browser only.
Backup file (.clayweb): Save project, or Ctrl+S. The editable sculpt with every layer, as a file you keep. Opens on any device with Open project.
Model export (GLB, OBJ, STL): Export GLB, OBJ or Print (STL). Shape and colour for other apps and printers. Not your layers, so not a backup.

Opening a copy in the studio keeps what was on the canvas as a safety copy first, so nothing is overwritten. Import GLB can turn a closed GLB back into clay, but it's a conversion (fine detail softens, and textured GLBs can't be imported yet), so it isn't a backup.

Online

Your private online copies, share links and gallery submissions are in Your sculpts, after signing in. Uploads there are private until you choose to share one or send it to the gallery, where a person reviews it before it's public. There's no automatic sync between this device and online.
