About Clay Views
Clay Views is a one-minute game about a skill every sculptor, engineer and architect uses: picturing what a 3D shape looks like from another side. You see a lump of cubes drawn from the front, the right and above. Then you're asked what it would look like from one side, and you pick the flat picture that matches.
The pink faces look at you, so a pink question asks for the Front view. The blue faces look right (the Side) and the yellow ones look up (the Top). Wrong answers are the other views of the same lump, the right answer flipped over, or one square off, so you have to think, not guess.
How to play
- Press Play today's ten. You get ten lumps, from four cubes up to seven.
- Look at the lump, then tap the picture that shows it from the side you're asked about. Pictures are 3 by 3 squares: filled where the clay would show.
- Quick, correct answers and runs of right answers score more. Your result is a row of green squares you can post, and the questions are the same for everyone today.
Why it's worth a minute
Spatial reasoning is one of the skills people can practise. Checking a silhouette from each side is also how 3D artists catch mistakes early: it's what the lock puzzles in Fix It ask of your sculpt, with the real clay in your hands.

Questions people ask
Is it the same every day?
Yes: everyone gets the same ten questions on a given day, and a new ten the next. Practice mode gives you random ones.
What is Run?
Run keeps going after the ten: three lives, and the questions get harder (more cubes). Some come the other way round, with the front and side pictures given and four lumps to pick from, and later some show a lump and ask which of four is the same lump turned, the way you see it after walking round it. Share a run and whoever opens your link plays the very same questions.
Does it teach anything?
It practises picturing a shape from another side, a skill that helps in drawing, building and sculpting. It's a game, not a test, and it won't change your grades.
