Blend In: prop hunt in clay

Hide in a cute clay scene as one of its props, while a friend hunts for you. 2 to 12 players on their phones, or a whole stream chat. Free, with no app and no account.

The Bakery counter. Everyone studies it before the hiders sneak in.

How Blend In works

Blend In is prop hunt, made of clay and played on phones. One shared screen shows a cute clay scene. Everyone studies it. Then the seeker looks away, and everyone else sneaks into the scene as a copy of one of its props: one more cupcake on the bakery counter, an extra duck on the toy shelf, a carrot that wasn't in the veggie patch a minute ago.

When the seeker looks back, they get a few taps to point out what's new. Hide well and you score. Get spotted and the seeker does.

How to play

  1. Open clayvr.com/play on a laptop, a TV or your stream and press Host a game. Choose Blend In.
  2. Everyone joins on their phone with the four-letter code or the QR code. No app, no account.
  3. Pick who seeks: take turns (a different seeker each round, up to 12 players), or streamer mode, where the big screen seeks and up to 50 people hide.
  4. Study the scene for 15 seconds. Remember what's where.
  5. Hiders get 50 seconds to sneak in: choose a prop to copy on your phone and put it somewhere believable.
  6. The seeker hunts. They get as many taps as there are hiders, plus two, and the clock gets a little longer the more people are hiding.
  7. The reveal shows who was where, and the points go up on the big screen. Three rounds (or one per seeker), and the highest score wins.

Scoring

  • Hiders: getting away with it is worth the most. Being found late still earns something; being found first earns least.
  • Squeaks: while you're being hunted, you can make your prop squeak (a tiny hop) up to twice. Risky, because it catches the eye, but each squeak is worth extra if you survive.
  • Seekers: points for every hider found, and a bonus for finding everyone.

The scenes

Four clay scenes, each full of small props: a Bakery counter, a Toy shelf, a Veggie patch and a Cosy desk. The host can pick one or mix them up.

Good for

  • A family evening around the TV, from young kids (with a grown-up reading) to grandparents.
  • A party where not everyone wants to play a fighting game.
  • Streams: in streamer mode your whole chat hides and you seek, live.
  • Video calls: share the host screen and everyone joins on their own phone.

Just you?

Play Blend In daily: one scene a day, five impostors sneak in, and you have eight taps to find them. Same puzzle for everyone.

Questions people ask

Is Blend In like prop hunt?

Yes, it's the same idea: players disguise themselves as objects and a seeker tries to spot them. Here it's a cute clay scene on one shared screen, and you hide by placing a copy of a prop from your phone.

How many people can play?

2 to 12 when you take turns seeking. In streamer mode the big screen does the seeking and up to 50 people can hide.

Does everyone need the game?

No. It runs in the browser. The host opens clayvr.com/play, and everyone else joins on their phone with the code.

What if someone's phone drops out?

Open the same link again and choose Rejoin. You come back as the same player, with your score.
