Opening your studio…
Free 3D sculpting online: a clay studio in your browser
This is the free Clayground browser studio: a 3D clay sculpting tool for mouse, pen or touch. Add, carve, smooth, pull and paint clay, work in layers, and export a coloured GLB, an OBJ or a print-ready STL. There is nothing to install, no account to make, and no AI: you sculpt everything by hand.
How it works
The clay is volumetric, so you never think about polygons: push a hole through a head or merge two blobs and the surface just follows. On a computer, drag on the clay to sculpt, right-drag to turn and scroll to zoom. Eleven brushes sit on the number keys (Clay, Erase, Smooth, Paint, Inflate, Flatten, Move, Crease, Swirl, Squash and Hook), X turns Mirror on, and holding Ctrl makes most tools do the opposite.
On a phone, Easy mode builds a friendly character in one tap and adds eyes, ears, horns and feet in the right places. Switch to Pro tools for up to twelve layers, Shapes that merge, cut and intersect, motion loops and export.
Keep and share what you make
Your work saves in this browser as you go. Press Save project for an editable backup file you can open on any device, Record clip for a little looping video, or Print (STL) for a 60 mm file for a 3D printer. Any sculpt can also become a fighter in Smoosh.

New to sculpting? Learn to make a 3D character online, see how it works on a phone, or follow the getting started steps. Coming from another tool? Read how it compares with SculptGL, Nomad Sculpt and Blender. For sculpting with your hands in virtual reality, Clayground is free on the Meta Quest store; the VR sculpting guide explains what that's like.
