Questions
How do I open an OBJ file online?
Drop the file and its picture files on this page and it appears in a 3D view you can spin and zoom. Nothing is uploaded.
What does the OBJ viewer show?
The model lit from a few sides, its size, triangle and vertex counts, and the volume and surface area when the surface is closed. Save a picture of the view as a PNG.
Which programs open OBJ files?
Blender, Maya, 3ds Max, MeshLab, ZBrush, Windows 3D Viewer and almost every other 3D program.
Can I convert OBJ to GLB or STL?
Yes. Open the file, then use the buttons under What’s inside. Everything this page reads from OBJ fits in GLB: shape, colours and textures.
My OBJ has textures. Do I drop them too?
Drop the .mtl file and the picture files together with the .obj. Names are matched whatever folder they came from.
Can I convert OBJ to FBX?
Not here: FBX is a closed format and no browser tool writes it well. Blender does: import the OBJ, then File, Export, FBX.
Is my file uploaded?
No. The file is opened and converted in your browser, and it stays on your device.
