About Lumpkin
Lumpkin is a clay pet that lives on your device. You hatch an egg and a Phetta Fella is born: one of 99,999 clay creatures, each with its own face, colours and rarity. It gets hungry, bored, dirty and sleepy as the real clock runs, and it grows up if you look after it.
It keeps going while the page is closed. A pet that has been looked after makes clay into a jar for you to collect, and the hours it sleeps at night cost it nothing. Every pet that grows up moves to a wall of frames with its picture on it, and hands you a better egg.
How to play
- Tap an egg. Today's egg is the same for everyone, and the other egg is a random one. The egg cracks and a fella is born.
- Feed it, play fetch, drum or blow bubbles, wash it, and tap the lamp to put it to bed. The rings round the buttons show what it needs, and a bubble over its head shows what it wants most.
- Open Play for the minigames. Catch: run under falling treats and keep clear of the brown piles. Copy Me: it dances a pattern and you press it back. Cups: watch where the clay goes, then pick the cup. Each pays clay and gives three stars to win.
- Tap it for a pat. Tap the glass jar to collect the clay it has made, and tap a brown pile to scoop it up. On a keyboard, F feeds, P plays, W washes, S puts it to bed and B opens the shop.
- Spend clay on hats, glazes, toys, a faster kiln and a bigger jar. Tap its name to rename it.
- Look after it for about five days and it grows up and goes to the wall. Share a picture card of it, with a link, so a friend can meet your pet.
What is new about it
Most pet games are flat pictures and a few meters. Lumpkin is a small 3D room made of clay, with a window onto the real sky, a lamp that is also the light switch, and a pet that walks about, sulks, shivers when it is low, and runs after a ball. The pet is a real Phetta Fella on the same skeleton and the same fifty-odd animations as the fighting game Smoosh.
It is built for a minute at a time. Needs fall slowly, nights are gentle, and a pet that has had two days of nothing is not lost: it goes into the kiln and comes out as a statue on your wall, and you hatch another.

Questions people ask
Does it keep going when I close the page?
Yes. The next time you open it, the game works out how long you were away. Its needs fall slowly, much slower at night (from 10 at night to 7 in the morning on your device), and the clay it made waits in the jar. Time away is counted up to two weeks.
Can my pet die?
No. A pet that is left with nothing for two days in a row is fired in the kiln and goes to your wall as a statue. You hatch a new egg and start again.
How long does it take to grow up?
About five days of looking after it. It grows through four stages, only while it is in a good mood. When it grows up it moves to the wall, and you get 250 clay and an egg that is never a common one.
What is clay for?
Hats, glazes, toys, a faster kiln and a bigger jar. You earn it from the jar, from play, from the minigames, from scooping up messes, and from a pat every twenty seconds.
What are the minigames?
Three short games in Play. Catch is 40 seconds of running under falling treats, with three hearts and brown piles to dodge. Copy Me has the pet dance a pattern that grows by one each round, and you press it back. Cups hides the clay under one of three cups and swaps them faster each round. A go pays clay and cheers the pet up, and tires it a little, so a sleepy or hungry pet sits one out. The first six goes of a day pay in full.
What are the rare ones?
The pet is a Phetta Fella, so it has a rarity: Common, Uncommon, Rare, or Chase (glowing or gold). Today's egg is the same fella for everyone that day, so you can compare.
Where is my pet saved?
On your device, in this browser. Clearing site data clears it. A share link carries the pet's look but never your save.
