Test and improve
45 minutes. Students hand in a picture of the better version and a note on what changed.
Before class
- Put the class link on the board or in your class page.
- Explain the loop before students start: build, test on someone, change one thing, test again.
- Tell students to type a short name, not their own name, when saving a copy.
Run it
| 5 min | Explain the loop and what makes a fair test (same time, same question). |
|---|---|
| 15 min | Sculpt and save Version 1. |
| 10 min | Test, change one thing, save Version 2. |
| 10 min | Test again with a new classmate and compare. |
| 5 min | Save the better picture and write the note. |
Student steps
- Sculpt a character from the ball. Aim for one a classmate could name in five seconds.
- Save a named copy called Version 1: Files, My projects, Save named copy.
- Show a classmate for five seconds. Write down what they say it is.
- Change one thing that would make it clearer. Only one.
- Save another named copy called Version 2.
- Test again with a different classmate. Did it get clearer?
- Press Export, then Save image of the better version. Hand it in with a note on what you changed.
Ask the class
- Why change only one thing at a time?
- Did the second test agree with the first?
