A mascot with a brief
45 minutes. Students hand in a picture and one sentence on why it fits.
Before class
- Write the brief on the board: a mascot for a club, readable from across the room, three colours at most, one feature that says what the club does.
- Decide whether students pick a club or you assign them.
- Put the class link on the board or in your class page.
Run it
| 5 min | Read the brief. Name two school mascots and what they show at a glance. |
|---|---|
| 10 min | Block out the body and check the silhouette in Front and Side. |
| 15 min | Add the one feature, then paint with three colours at most. |
| 10 min | Pairs: swap screens. Each partner says what the club is, from the mascot alone. |
| 5 min | Save a picture and write the sentence to hand in. |
Student steps
- Choose who the mascot is for (robotics, library, garden or your own club). Write down one thing it should show.
- Block out the whole body in one colour. Use the biggest shapes first.
- Open View and check Front, then Side. Is the shape clear from both?
- Add the one feature that shows what the club does.
- Paint with three colours at most.
- Save a named copy: Files, My projects, Save named copy.
- Press Export, then Save image. Hand in the picture with one sentence on why it fits.
Ask the class
- What does the mascot show before anyone reads a label?
- What would you cut if you only had two colours?
